Gardi Sugdub Relocation Features in Latest Film from The Shore Line Project

The Shore Line Project, directed by Liz Miller, sheds light on the predicament of coastal communities around the world which face displacement.

A recent film by the Shore Line Project looks at the displacement and relocation process of the island of Gardi Sugdub in Panama. Due to the consequences of rising sea levels, more than 30,000 people from the Gunayala islands of Panama face displacement. The 1000 Gunayala members of the Gardi Sugdub island are currently carrying out their planned relocation to the safer mainland.

The film interviews Blas Lopez, a community leader of the Gunayala community of Gardi Sugdub.
