DS has been operating in Bangladesh for many years now and has built partnerships with local organisations under the umbrella of its Bangladesh HLP Initiative. We were pleased, therefore, to see reference to this work as well as several DS publications in a June 2014 report by the Government of Bangladesh.
The report, entitled Trend and Impact Analysis of Internal Displacement due to the Impacts of Disaster and Climate Change, was released by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. The document studies and forecasts the scope and effect of climate displacement within the nation, and it can be accessed here.
DS looks forward to continuing our work together with YPSA and the Government for Bangladesh to find rights-based solutions for the millions of Bangladeshi citizens who are threatened with the looming spectre of climate displacement.
